AoC Online

Jul 11

Well, it only took months longer than it should have, but AoC is online for work finally. We now have a new 24/7 server host. Thank you to a very special someone for that. (You know who you are) We are getting mapping completed as we speak. Currently, we're working out a few bugs in the client, then we're good to go.

::UPDATES::

We have updated the client to an *ahem* edited *ahem* version of 1.5.4. The new version should work out a few issues with frame rates, logging, etc.

New staff members have joined since the last update. I'll post the current staff list below. And we are still looking for mappers and developers. If you wish to participate in any way, or have any questions or comments, please feel free to add me on MSN. crazy_monkey509@hotmail.com Just say you are from the XR site and what your name is.

Irving is back in the project, and he's getting our storyline going quite well. We have many plans for all kinds of cool places to explore. All kinds of quests are planned to keep players occupied on something other than just levels all the time. Though, there will be PvP options.

::Staff::
Owners: Kio and Irving aka. Solid Snake
Server host: TBA
Administrators: None as of yet
Developers: Griffin, AbelNox
Mappers: Gec
Scripters: Phoenix

That's all I can think of for now. So feel free to pop me an IM.

Advents of Chaos

Jul 06

Well, honestly I really don't like to go to much into my personal life, but I guess I might as well say SOMETHING about the game on the new site. (I'll make a post on the new forums later) Oh and by the way Origin very nice job on the new site I must say. Anyways, back on topic, AoC is the name of the game. And for those of you who haven't been keeping up, heres the jist of whats happened.

1. Irving and I get our ideas layed out
2. We find staff
3. Compiled Gfx
4. Gfx to big, must fix
5. Irving leaves
4. I find more staff
5. Computer screwed over with Linux, worst idea ever
6. Trying to fix back to windows
7. Irving comes back
8. Currently trying to fix windows

That's the whole story in a nutshell, we're basicly almost a month behind where I would like to be. But hopefully, as of today, I should be able to get Windows xp back and things will be able to kick into high gear. Unfortunately, I will have to depend on most of the work to come from my staff. With my current situaation, I can't do as uch work as I'd like to. Quite frankly, i'm pretty swamped. But this is something I'm willing to sacrifice time and other thigns for, and will do so. In other words, I'm not willing to let this project die as long as it is within my control. To my staff members reading this, I hope you will be in for the long run, I thnk we have what it takes to make this a huge XR 1.5 success. We need to show that there is more than one Xr game out there, whitch at this point is nearly dead. (I think we all know which one) We can pull this off if we can get it together and work for it.

On that note, I end the introduction post into my blog. Hopfully, I will have more posts soon, and you might just find out a thing or two about me. (because you know you've always wanted to know *sarcasm*)
